He attempted to steal an electric bicycle in Gianturco, but was caught by officers and arrested. It happened overnight in Naples, where the State Police arrested a 29-year-old man with a criminal record, including specific convictions, on suspicion of aggravated theft and resisting a public officer.
The operation was triggered by a report to the Operations Room of the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station, which was conducting a territorial patrol. Officers responded to Via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli alle Mosche, where a theft in progress had been reported.
Once on scene, officers noticed the 29-year-old fiddling with an e-bike. Upon seeing the patrol, the man attempted to quickly run away, but was caught and apprehended by officers after a chase.
Next to the bicycle, officers found a screwdriver and wire cutters. Investigations also revealed that the chain securing the bike had been damaged.
