Castellammare, a rickety house in the new spa area risks collapsing inside Villa Weiss.

Castellammare – A structure in constant disrepair, a damaged wall, and the real risk of collapse engulfing the only access road used daily by over twenty families. This is the dispute raised by residents of the Villa Weiss apartment building on Via Salita Ponte Scanzano, located in the immediate vicinity of the former Nuove Terme Stabiane spa.

The report, received by Green-Left Alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli through a resident of the residential complex, highlights the condition of a small house located within the hydroponic garden. The building, now clearly abandoned, presents structural issues that raise concerns about direct impact on the road below in the event of a collapse.

Despite requests sent to the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia through the condominium administration, the only measure taken so far by local authorities has been the installation of barriers, a measure deemed completely insufficient by residents. Concern is growing in anticipation of the fall and winter seasons, when heavy rainfall and resulting water infiltration could accelerate the deterioration of the wall and trigger landslides in the surrounding terrain.

Barriers can signal a danger, but they certainly don't eliminate it. If there's a risk that an abandoned structure or adjacent land could collapse, an immediate technical inspection must be conducted and safety measures taken.

We're talking about a densely populated area and a road used by dozens of residents every day. It's unacceptable to wait for a collapse or landslide to take action. We will request formal investigations from the Municipality and the relevant authorities so that the necessary work can be carried out to protect public and private safety.
