The Carabinieri in Capri
Capri – Construction inspections and new irregularities discovered on the island. On Capri, Carabinieri officers from the local station, along with staff from the Municipality's Technical Office of Urban Planning and Private Construction, conducted an inspection of a restaurant on Via Gradoni Sopramonte, confirming the presence of construction that had been illegally constructed or otherwise lacked the necessary permits.
Following the investigation, a complaint was filed against the owner and manager of the business. The Municipality also issued an order requiring the removal and demolition of the structures deemed non-compliant with urban planning regulations.
During the inspection, the investigations identified several construction projects carried out without the required permits. These included a storage room, an internal staircase, and a mezzanine.
These are interventions which, according to what emerged from the joint inspection, were not carried out in compliance with the procedures required by building regulations.
Based on the findings of the inspection, the municipal administration has adopted a measure ordering the removal of the disputed works and the restoration of the site to its original condition.
The control activity is part of the checks aimed at combating building abuses and ensuring compliance with urban planning regulations in a particularly sensitive area such as the island of Capri, where the protection of the landscape and the territory takes on even greater importance.
