The drug seized
Naples – Over a kilo of hashish, bottles of methadone, marijuana plants, and cash believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing were seized by State Police in Barra, where a 56-year-old man with a criminal record was arrested on charges of illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The operation took place yesterday during a patrol organized by officers from the San Giovanni-Barra police station. The officers, passing through Piazzetta Bisignano, noticed the 56-year-old man wandering around in a suspicious manner and decided to check him.
The man had on him eleven packages of hashish, weighing a total of approximately 15 grams, as well as 50 euros in cash, divided into banknotes of various denominations.
The discovery prompted officers to further investigate by searching the 56-year-old's home. Inside the apartment, they found 23 additional packages of hashish, weighing more than one kilogram, 17 bottles of methadone, two marijuana plants approximately 75 centimeters tall, and two precision scales.
Also seized were €500 in banknotes of various denominations and an airsoft rifle. Following investigations, the 56-year-old was arrested by State Police personnel.
