Castel Sant 'Elmo
Naples – A wall collapse occurred in the heart of Vomero, where a portion of a wall located in an area adjacent to Castel Sant'Elmo suddenly collapsed. The incident did not result in any injuries, but prompted the management of the Vomero National Museums to temporarily close the monument as a precautionary measure.
The detachment affected an external wall and was not directly related to the museum complex. The Fire Department responded immediately, along with the Carabinieri and Civil Protection to cordon off the area and conduct initial technical surveys.
The structural or environmental causes of the collapse remain to be determined. As confirmed on the institute's official channels, the castle's doors will remain closed to the public for the duration of the investigation and the restoration of complete safety.
