Major operation in Casoria: seizures, seals, and €12 in fines in the industrial district.

Casoria – A large-scale judicial police operation conducted by Casoria Local Police led to the seizure of a production plant, the filing of charges against two individuals for environmental crimes, and the issuance of administrative fines totaling €12.000, along with the emergency closure of several illegal businesses.

The operation, led by Commander Pasquale Pugliese, focused on the Arpino di Casoria district, within an industrial and commercial complex of approximately 10.000 square meters. The objective of the raid: to verify compliance with building permits, environmental regulations, and workplace safety.

Ghost buildings and zero safety

During the inspections, carried out in the presence of the owners and tenants of the premises, the officers discovered that numerous buildings in the area had been built without a building permit or the relevant occupancy certificates.

The most critical inspections involved a metalworking workshop covering approximately 250 square meters. The facility operated without environmental permits, a Fire Prevention Certificate, or permits for atmospheric emissions.

It took the officers little time to also ascertain the failure to keep loading and unloading records and the unauthorized handling of hazardous waste. The owner, a 40-year-old local man, was reported at large; the entire facility and machinery were placed under criminal seizure.

Illegal landfill and sanctions for activities

The surprises didn't end there. In another warehouse in the complex, workers found themselves faced with a veritable uncontrolled dump of hazardous and inert waste: construction waste, used tires, and even gas cylinders piled up without any precautions. The incident led to a 61-year-old Naples resident being reported for violating the Consolidated Environmental Act.

At the same time, the Local Police conducted a thorough inspection of wholesale and retail stores operating within the area, finding serious administrative irregularities. In addition to fines totaling €12.000, the additional measure of immediate cessation of business was applied to all non-compliant businesses.

"Regional checks will continue unabated," declared Colonel Pasquale Pugliese, Commander of the Casoria Local Police. "Compliance with urban planning, environmental, and safety regulations is a fundamental safeguard for the protection of citizens and businesses operating legally. The goal is to combat all forms of illegal building and unfair competition, ensuring transparency for the entire productive fabric of the city."

The positions of the individuals involved are currently being examined by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples North. It should be noted that the proceedings are in the preliminary investigation phase and that, pursuant to Article 27 of the Constitution, all suspects are presumed innocent until a final conviction is issued.
