The Naples-Torre del Greco Circumvesuviana line is suspended on August 28th and 29th. Replacement buses will be available between Barra and Torre del Greco.

Naples – Rail traffic on the Barra-Torre del Greco section of the Circumvesuviana train will be suspended on Thursday, August 28th, and Friday, August 29th. The suspension, which will last the entire service period, is necessary to allow for the completion of regulatory upgrades in the Bosco di Portici and Cavalli di Bronzo tunnels.

The announcement was made by the Ente Autonomo Volturno, which has prepared an alternative mobility plan with replacement buses to reduce inconvenience for commuters and travelers heading to the Sorrento Peninsula and the Vesuvian area.

During the two days of work, trains to and from Sorrento will limit service to Torre Annunziata, without reaching Naples. Trains to and from Poggiomarino, however, will end service at Torre del Greco and will not continue to the capital.

To cover the suspended rail connections, EAV will operate replacement buses between Naples Porta Nolana, Villa Regina, and Torre del Greco, in both directions. Villa Regina station will become the main interchange point for those traveling between Naples and Sorrento.

The bus service will be divided into two routes: direct buses via the motorway, with stops at Napoli Porta Nolana, Napoli Garibaldi – Hotel Ramada stop –, Torre Annunziata, and Villa Regina; and buses with intermediate stops, running between Napoli Porta Nolana/Napoli Garibaldi and Torre del Greco, with stops near the relevant stations along the route.
