Pozzuoli – Solidarity is being mobilized for the residents of Campi Flegrei left homeless following the recent earthquake. The Campania Region's Civil Protection Department has prepared an extraordinary relief plan to provide essential supplies and psychological, physical, and social support to those forced to abandon their homes.
Starting tomorrow morning, the tent structure set up by SMA Campania outside the Palatrincone in Pozzuoli will become the hub of the emergency response. From 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., staff and volunteers will be working to collect and distribute supplies to the displaced.
The requested items include new clothing, personal hygiene products, shelf-stable foods (canned goods and pasta), powdered milk, diapers, and children's toys. "The center represents a concrete point of reference for managing aid and ensuring an orderly and coordinated response to the needs of citizens temporarily displaced from their homes," said Fiorella Zabatta, Regional Councilor for Civil Protection.
Regarding primary services, two regional water tankers remain operational, providing sanitary water supplies, located at Piazza a Mare (Port area) and the Trincone school (Solfatara area). The waiting area set up at the former NATO base in Bagnoli also remains open and manned.
To address the needs of the most vulnerable, the Regional Civil Protection Department, in close collaboration with the National Department, has mobilized professional social workers from Asproc (Association of Social Workers for Civil Protection). The task force will support the Municipality of Pozzuoli to ensure targeted assistance to vulnerable population groups during this delicate emergency.
