De Bruyne, his first win in Italy: "Happy with the goal and the win. I hope I'm injury-free."

Kevin De Bruyne took center stage at Marassi. Napoli's Belgian midfielder scored the decisive goal against Genoa, giving the Azzurri a valuable victory and also scoring his first goal for Napoli.

"I think it was a difficult match to start with, but then we came out on top. I'm happy to have scored and won," De Bruyne told Sky Sport after the match.

A heavy goal

The Belgian's goal to make it 1-0 represents another step in his integration into Napoli. It was a decisive play in a match that the Azzurri faced with some initial difficulties before finally taking control.

De Bruyne, however, is looking above all at continuity and the possibility of definitively leaving behind the physical problems that have affected the last few months.

«I hope I don't have any more injuries»

"I hope I don't have any more injuries. It's been a tough year, six months out and then the World Cup," the Belgian midfielder explained. "I'm doing well and trying to help the team."

A message that also conveys his desire to return to the forefront with consistency. De Bruyne recalled the difficult period he's been through physically and reiterated the importance of daily work to regain top form.

"I've had two injuries in the last three years. I try to work hard and help the team," he added.

The goal: a better second season

The Belgian is already looking beyond the match against Genoa and has set a specific personal goal: to grow further and have a more positive season.

“I hope the second season is better than the first,” De Bruyne concluded.

Meanwhile, the goal at Marassi is an important signal. The Belgian midfielder has begun to make his mark on Napoli and, after recent physical difficulties, now aims to make consistency a key aspect of his new adventure with the Azzurri.
