Father Patriciello raises the alarm: "Campi Flegrei, a ticking time bomb that must be defused immediately."

Anti-mafia parish priest Don Maurizio Patriciello warns of the imminent risk in the Phlegraean Fields: "Failure to act today means tears will be shed tomorrow." An urgent appeal for prevention and evacuation to avoid tragedies.

In an interview with the newspaper La Stampa, Don Maurizio Patriciello, known for his anti-mafia work, expressed grave concern about the geological situation of the Campi Flegrei, calling it "a time bomb" waiting to explode.

Following the recent earthquakes, the strongest in the last forty years, the priest emphasized the urgency of intervening to prevent a catastrophe that could cause numerous casualties. "It must be clear to everyone that failure to act today means mourning deaths tomorrow," he said, urging the authorities not to underestimate the danger and to deploy every available means to ensure the safety of the population.

Father Patriciello also highlighted the difficulties associated with evacuations, often hampered by interests and resistance similar to those encountered in the cleanup of the Land of Fires. However, he reiterated that it is essential to tell the citizens the truth so that we can face this effort together. The alarm was reinforced by the words of the head of the Civil Protection Agency, Fabio Ciciliano, who warned that a stronger earthquake could cause casualties.

“The unknown is not whether a stronger shock will arrive, but when,” concluded Don Patriciello, urging us not to ignore the risk and to implement all effective and universally recognised measures to minimise damage and save human lives.
