Weather forecast for Naples and Campania today, August 3: in the grip of the African anticyclone.

Monday, August 3rd, begins with clear or partly cloudy skies across much of Campania. The African anticyclone continues to dominate the weather, ensuring stable weather but accompanied by temperatures well above seasonal averages.

In Naples, the thermometer will reach around 32-33 degrees, but the perceived temperature will be significantly higher due to high humidity. Sea breezes will offer only partial relief in the afternoon.

Up to 39 degrees in inland areas

The most difficult conditions are expected in the Campania region's hinterland. In the provinces of Caserta, Benevento, and Avellino, as well as in the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese area and the Salerno hinterland, highs could reach 38-39 degrees Celsius, with particularly dry weather during the central hours of the day.

On the coast, however, the sea will help keep temperatures down slightly, but the muggy heat will still make the heat very intense.

Naples remains under the red flag

The Ministry of Health has confirmed the maximum alert level (red alert) for heatwaves for Naples. This represents the highest risk, especially for the elderly, children, vulnerable individuals, and those with chronic conditions.

Health authorities recommend avoiding sun exposure between 11 a.m. and 18 p.m., drinking water frequently, limiting physical activity during the hottest hours, and paying particular attention to the most vulnerable people.

When some relief comes

According to the latest meteorological forecasts, the heatwave is expected to remain intense for the next 24-48 hours. Only in the second half of the week could temperatures drop slightly, thanks to the weakening of the anticyclone and the possible arrival of cooler air currents, but this will not significantly change the summer climate.
