Ischia and Procida: Power has been restored to the hydroelectric plant, averting a crisis.

The emergency that had raised fears of a water crisis for Ischia and Procida ended in the early afternoon. E-Distribuzione announced that at 2:15 PM, power was fully restored to the Mugnano di Napoli water pumping station, which had been without power since the morning's blackout.

The power outage had in fact blocked the operation of the systems that pump water from the mainland to the two islands in the Gulf of Naples, raising alarm over possible problems with water distribution.

According to the company, technicians worked tirelessly, successfully repairing the two faults affecting the underground cables of the medium-voltage lines, restoring the grid to normal operation as quickly as possible.

However, high levels of vigilance remain. The large power station installed in the early stages of the emergency will be kept on site as a precaution, ready to resume operation should further critical situations arise.

With the restoration of the power supply, the feared water emergency that could have affected thousands of residents and tourists on Ischia and Procida at the height of the summer season has been averted.
