San Marco Evangelista, 39-year-old man assaults elderly father: Carabinieri arrest him

An intervention by the Carabinieri has put an end to a new case of domestic violence in San Marco Evangelista, in the Caserta area. A 39-year-old local man was arrested in flagrante delicto and charged, under the current investigation and subject to the presumption of innocence until a final verdict, with mistreatment of family members or cohabitants and personal injury.

The alarm was raised during the night after a call for help was received on the single emergency number 112 regarding a violent argument inside a home. Officers from the San Nicola La Strada station responded quickly and reconstructed the events, determining that the 39-year-old had threatened and assaulted his live-in father, a 71-year-old pensioner.

In an attempt to defend himself from the attack, the elderly man allegedly reacted by throwing some household items at his son, managing to hit him in the head. However, the Carabinieri's investigations revealed a broader pattern, with alleged violent and harassing behavior that continued over time, including against his cohabiting mother, a 71-year-old woman suffering from a serious illness.

Investigators' investigations also revealed that the father had already reported similar incidents in July 2025, a circumstance that had led to the 39-year-old's previous arrest for similar incidents.

Despite his fragile condition, the elderly man reportedly refused transfer to a secure facility. To ensure greater protection, the activation of general radio-linked surveillance was proposed.

After the usual formalities, the 39-year-old was arrested and transferred, by order of the judicial authorities, to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, where he remains at the disposal of the magistrates.

The intervention is part of the Carabinieri's efforts to combat domestic violence, focusing in particular on cases where abuse occurs within the family and involves particularly vulnerable individuals.
