Emergency at Campi Flegrei: Pozzuoli handles 230 requests for assistance.

The Municipality of Pozzuoli has implemented extraordinary measures to address the critical situation in the Phlegraean Fields, including road and public facility closures and a support hub for residents.

The Municipality of Pozzuoli is working to address an emergency situation in the Phlegraean Fields, where 230 requests for assistance have already been received. In response, safety measures and temporary closures of strategic areas have been implemented.

Via Fasano has been closed to traffic from the roundabout at the tunnel exit towards Pozzuoli, while Via Sacchini is inaccessible from the intersection with Via Roma towards Arco Felice, which remains accessible via Via Domitiana. Alternating one-way traffic has been established on Via Pergolesi, and the limited traffic zones (ZTLs) have been temporarily deactivated.

Among the closed facilities are the wholesale fish market and the municipal cemetery. To ensure a collection and assistance point, several waiting areas have been identified, including Lungomare Pertini, Via Annecchino, the Urban Park on Via Vecchia delle Vigne, Via Paolella in Agnano Pisciarelli, Largo del Ricordo, and Villetta Pierluigi Rotta.

A fully equipped hub is also operational at the PalaTrincone, accessible by shuttle service. This hub features a health station from ASL Napoli 2 Nord and emergency psychologists from the Campania Region Civil Protection Department, available to support residents.

On the operational front, teams from the Civil Protection, Municipal Police, Fire Brigade, and municipal technicians are carrying out inspections and interventions to secure the affected areas. The Municipality urges the public to limit nonessential travel and to follow official communications only.

For reports and requests for assistance, please call the Civil Protection Department (081 18894400) and the Municipal Police (081 8551891). People with disabilities are encouraged to call 118 for medical emergencies or the Social Emergency Service (800 006 446) for non-medical assistance. The municipal administration appeals for cooperation with personnel engaged in security and support operations.
