Marcianise: A raid on the drug dealing center: the son of the Belforte clan boss arrested.

The Caserta State Police have carried out a new crackdown on drug trafficking in the Caserta area. Among those involved in the operation launched last night is Fabio Buanno Jr., a 25-year-old native of Capodrise and son of a member of the Belforte Camorra clan of the same name.

The arrest was made following an intensive investigation conducted by officers from the Marcianise Public Safety Commission. The young man is being represented by the lawyer Francesco Liguori.

From the suspicions in Via Malgieri to the kidnapping in the Benevento area

The investigation began following several tips received by police. Investigators narrowed their focus to the Marcianise public housing district, particularly the area around Via Malgieri. Through stakeouts and tailing, officers zeroed in on an apartment where a thriving drug dealing hub was reportedly being set up.

The subsequent search resulted in the seizure of hundreds of doses of drugs and cash believed to be the proceeds of illicit trafficking. The investigation was then extended to the Benevento area, to the home of another arrested man. A relative of the man, already under house arrest, was located there, having been caught with additional narcotics and weighing and packaging materials.

Recent precedents

This isn't Buanno Jr.'s first recent charge. Last April, the 25-year-old was arrested following a search of his home on Via Malgeri, during which he attempted to dispose of a container hidden behind an air conditioner motor. Over 65 grams of drugs (including cocaine, hashish, and crack) and packaging equipment were recovered. Initially jailed, at the end of June the investigating judge of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Court ordered his house arrest, granting the defense's request.

The shadows of the clan and controls on the territory

This latest operation refocuses attention on possible links between the drug dealing group and local organized crime circles. Investigators are investigating any potential links with clans in the Marcianise area, although any more complex connections will need to be addressed in subsequent investigations. In any case, the operation confirms law enforcement's constant monitoring of the area's drug dealing hubs.
