Montoro — A factory of approximately 5,000 square meters was seized by the Carabinieri Forestry Corps in Montoro during inspections to combat pollution of the Sarno River. The operation led to the filing of a complaint against the company's sole director and the blocking of three warehouses and their machinery.

The Forino Forestry Corps, supported by their colleagues from the territorial force, reported a 55-year-old local woman, the owner of the company, to the Avellino Prosecutor's Office. According to the findings, the plant—operating in the nailing and finishing of leather—was operating without the required authorization to release emissions into the atmosphere.

The seizure covers the entire production area: three warehouses and the equipment used in processing. The operation is part of investigations and controls aimed at protecting the Sarno ecosystem, one of the most environmentally critical waterways in Southern Italy.

The Carabinieri announced that checks will continue in the coming days, with the aim of intercepting further violations and combating river pollution.
