Naples Weather August 19st
Wednesday, August 19th, begins with a new phase of atmospheric stability over Naples and Campania. After the thunderstorms that affected some regional areas in the previous days, the weather situation is decidedly calmer.
According to today's forecast, Naples will be mostly clear or partly cloudy for most of the day, with no significant precipitation. Temperatures will range approximately between 24-27 degrees Celsius (75-81 degrees Fahrenheit) and 31-32 degrees Celsius (88-90 degrees Fahrenheit), with summer-like heat and mugginess, especially during the central hours.
Cloud cover is expected to increase during the afternoon, but without significant precipitation. Winds, light in the early hours, will tend to strengthen moderately from the west and southwest. The sea will remain calm.
The improving weather coincides with a renewed rise in temperatures. Forecasts call for temperatures around 32-33 degrees Celsius in several areas of Campania, with locally higher peaks in inland areas.
However, this is a different heat compared to the exceptional phase recorded in the first part of August: the available updates speak of a new warm phase, but not of a new wave of extreme heat comparable to that of mid-August.
The national picture also shows a return of heat: after a temporary decrease in temperatures, the anticyclone is strengthening again, while a new development of low pressure is expected in the following days, especially in the North and the Tyrrhenian areas.
For the city of Naples, the heatwave situation remains to be considered. The Municipality has published a warning valid from August 17th to 19th, warning of critical conditions related to the heat.
Therefore, for today, especially during the hottest hours, it is advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun whenever possible, drink regularly, and pay particular attention to the most vulnerable people.
The rest of the region will also remain largely stable. In Caserta, temperatures are expected to reach around 32 degrees Celsius, with mostly clear or partly cloudy skies and moderate winds in the afternoon. In Salerno, the high is expected to be around 30 degrees Celsius, with partly cloudy skies and calm seas.
Inland, the heat could be more intense, while along the coast, breezes and westerly winds will contribute to making conditions slightly more pleasant, especially in the evening hours.
The good weather is expected to continue on Thursday, August 20th, with temperatures still around 32 degrees Celsius in Naples. Conditions will remain mostly stable on Friday, while the weekend could see increased instability, with the possibility of some isolated showers.
The warmest phase could instead become more pronounced again at the beginning of next week, before a possible new change in the atmospheric pattern.
