Napoli beat Osasuna in a friendly, but the transfer market remains an unknown quantity.

Despite numerous absences, Napoli secured a 2-1 victory over Osasuna in a friendly match that showed signs of improvement, while the wait for reinforcements on the transfer market is making itself felt.

Napoli continues to show signs of improvement in their summer preparations, despite a long list of key absences. In their third preseason friendly against Osasuna, the Neapolitan side prevailed 2-1, confirming their improvement compared to their previous outings against Serie B teams in Trentino.

Coach Allegri had to contend with several notable absences: McTominay and Rafa Marin were held out as a precaution due to muscle ailments, while De Bruyne, Buongiorno, and Neres missed the match for other reasons. Lukaku also enjoyed a few days' rest, with the club seemingly leaning toward a possible imminent transfer. Furthermore, Gutierrez's recent departure to Bayer Leverkusen has further limited his options.

On the pitch, Napoli displayed aggressive pressing and effective play down the flanks, with Spinazzola and Politano playing the leading role. Politano broke the deadlock in the 27th minute of the first half, finishing off a move initiated by Spinazzola. In the second half, Allegri made several changes, including Alisson and Vergara, and Lucca doubled the lead with a precise right-footed shot following a pass from Anguissa, one of the best players on the pitch. Osasuna pulled one back in the 24th minute through Budimir, who converted a penalty.

The match provided Allegri with some important insights into the team's form, but the coach remains awaiting reinforcements on the transfer market. So far, Napoli has focused primarily on sales, without yet launching a significant transfer campaign to strengthen the squad for the new season.
