Pozzuoli, they didn't stop at the checkpoint: they were two drug dealers. Arrested.

The Carabinieri arrested two young men from Giugliano, aged 18 and 24, on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. According to the police's reconstruction, the two attempted to evade a traffic stop on a scooter, disposing of packages containing cocaine and hashish during their escape.

It happened late in the afternoon in Pozzuoli. Carabinieri from the Pozzuoli Company's Mobile Radio Unit and the Licola station spotted a white Honda SH carrying the two young men, both residents of Giugliano and already known to law enforcement.

On the scooter was the 18 year old who, according to what was reported by the police, allegedly failed to stop at the police's command. A chase ensued, during which the two attempted to dispose of several packages.

Once the vehicle was stopped, the Carabinieri conducted a search. The 18-year-old was found in possession of nine doses of cocaine, ten packages of hashish, and €112 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.

The 24-year-old, however, allegedly threw a block of hashish weighing approximately 100 grams, packaged in fluorescent packaging, while fleeing. The substance was recovered and seized by the police.
The 18-year-old was also charged with reckless evasion and driving without a license. Both arrested were transferred to prison.
