Naples, 12 years after the Via Toledo tragedy: the Giordano family resumes their fight for justice.

Twelve years after the tragic death of Salvatore Giordano, the 14-year-old student fatally struck by debris falling from a building in the Galleria Umberto I in Naples, his family is once again demanding justice.

The young man lost his life in July 2014 after being struck in the head while walking with friends on Via Toledo, a heroic act that saved one of them. Investigations determined that the collapse of the façade, which had been in a state of disrepair for some time, could have been prevented with maintenance and securing the area, which were never carried out despite repeated warnings from the Fire Department and Civil Protection.

Assisted by lawyers Angelo and Sergio Pisani, the family has filed a summons seeking full compensation for damages, emphasizing that this is not just a financial issue, but a request for recognition of Salvatore's dignity and respect for his memory.

The lawyers argue that justice must go beyond establishing criminal responsibility to ensure adequate and timely compensation for victims. "Forcing a family to wait over twelve years to have their rights recognized adds suffering to suffering," they state.
