The Muse lights up the Capri sky: 500 drones reveal the island's soul on the night of San Lorenzo.

It won't just be shooting stars that will capture the attention on the night of San Lorenzo. This coming August 10th, the skies of Marina Grande will become the stage for an unprecedented spectacle, where technology, art, and tradition will merge in a tale dedicated to the most authentic identity of the Blue Island.

For the 22nd edition of "San Lorenzo al Porto," promoted by the City of Capri and the PTC Porto Turistico di Capri in collaboration with Artech and Dronisos, the grand drone show that captivated residents and visitors last year will return. The 2026 edition is even more ambitious, with 500 illuminated drones transforming the sky above Marina Grande into a vast luminous canvas for twelve minutes.

The show, entitled "The Muse," represents the second chapter of an artistic project born to tell the story of Capri through a contemporary language, capable of enhancing its history, culture, and landscape.

A journey through myth, art and traditions

The narrative draws inspiration from the ancient legend that identifies Capri as a woman forever separated from her love, Mount Vesuvius. From this myth, a visual narrative unfolds, in which each figure seamlessly emerges from the previous one, taking the audience on a journey through memory and identity.

The island's most famous symbols will appear in the sky: the Faraglioni, the Blue Grotto, the Piazzetta, the famous Blue Lizard, and the tambourine, an emblem of popular tradition. The images will follow one another like a narrative flow, in which technology becomes a tool to tell the story and soul of the land.

The organizers' goal is to offer an immersive experience that combines innovation and cultural heritage, confirming Capri as a place capable of preserving its roots without sacrificing experimentation.

A tribute to Jago and the new museum at Villa Lysis

Among the most anticipated images of the show will also be the Medusa by sculptor Jago, which will appear in the sky immediately after the depiction of the Faraglioni.
The tribute takes on a special significance because it coincides with the opening of the Jago Museum Capri, set up in the spaces of Villa Lysis, destined to become one of the island's new cultural centers.

For Luca Toscano, founder and CEO of Artech, the ability to transform the sky into a luminous canvas allows for a dialogue between contemporary art, tradition, and innovation, narrating Capri through an emotional and universal language.

A tribute to Peppino di Capri and Guido Lembo

The finale of the show will be dedicated to two artists who helped make Capri famous throughout the world.

The first tribute will be to Peppino di Capri, a key figure in over sixty years of musical history inextricably linked to the island. The strains of "Champagne" and "Luna Caprese" will accompany the symbolic farewell to the maestro.

A second tribute will be dedicated to Guido Lembo, the soul of the historic club "Anema e Core," which over the years has become a symbol of Capri's nightlife and a meeting point for artists and tourists from all over the world.

The goal: to make the drone show a new symbol of the Capri summer.

Capri's mayor, Paolo Falco, called the event "a tribute to the island's history, spanning both tradition and modernity," emphasizing how the illuminated path traces the most representative stages of Capri's identity.

Augusto Federico, president of the PTC Porto Turistico di Capri, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the success of the first edition and looking to the project's future: the goal is to transform the drone show into a regular event on the summer calendar, attracting thousands of visitors each year and consolidating Capri's position as one of Italy's most innovative destinations for cultural and tourism events.
