Capri lights up with 500 drones for the night of San Lorenzo: art and legend in the skies above Marina Grande.

The skies of Capri are preparing for a unique spectacle on the night of San Lorenzo, August 10, 2026. At the Marina Grande Tourist Port, 500 drones will unite in a captivating light show, transforming the celestial vault into a dynamic canvas that tells the story of the island's identity and legend. The event, now in its second year, is promoted by the city of Capri and the PTC Porto Turistico di Capri, in collaboration with Artech and Dronisos.

Following last year's success, the drone show expands its artistic and cultural journey, intertwining light, symbols, and images that celebrate Capri's iconic sites, such as the Faraglioni, the Blue Grotto, and the Piazzetta, as well as local folklore and historical traditions. The narrative draws on the mythical story of the island-woman separated from Vesuvius, transforming the sky into a poetic stream of consciousness that guides the audience through Capri's roots and memories.

Among the luminous figures in flight, Iago's Medusa will stand out, symbolizing the fusion of classical myth and contemporary art, on the occasion of the opening of the Jago Museum Capri at Villa Lysis. This installation pays homage to the artist who chose Capri as his home and represents a new chapter for the island's culture.

The 12-minute show is not just a technological display, but a true visual language that highlights the island's history and creativity, inspiring artists and visitors for millennia. San Lorenzo al Porto thus confirms Capri as an eternal muse, blending innovation and tradition, on a night where desire is expressed by looking to the sky.
