Tirana, tragedy after wedding: two young spouses die in an accident

A vacation in Albania turned tragic just days after their wedding. Sara Brugnatelli, 26, originally from Brescia, and her husband Kleo Vrioni, 25, from Albania, lost their lives in a serious car accident overnight in Manzë, a hamlet near Tirana.

The couple was traveling in a BMW with three other youths. A 15-year-old boy also died in the accident, while a 25-year-old was injured and a 16-year-old was hospitalized in serious condition.

The car off the road

According to initial reports in the Albanian press, the accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on a secondary road in the Manzë area. For reasons yet to be determined, the driver apparently lost control of the BMW.

The vehicle left the roadway and crashed violently into a concrete structure. The devastating impact left the young couple and the fifteen-year-old with no chance of escape.
