Tragic car-motorcycle collision in Cilento: one dead on state highway 18Var

A serious traffic accident occurred this morning on the 18Var "Cilentana" state road, in the municipality of Centola, in the province of Salerno. The collision, involving a car and a motorcycle, claimed the life of a man.

The accident occurred at km 153,900, causing the temporary closure of the affected section. To ensure safety and manage traffic, authorities have established mandatory exits at Poderia towards Vallo Scalo and at Centola towards Sessa Cilento.

The impact was extremely violent. The motorcycle driver lost his life: despite the intervention of emergency responders, there was nothing that could be done for him.

A father and his children were in the car. The man and his children were injured. They were taken to the hospital.

Anas teams and law enforcement officers intervened on site to coordinate rescue operations and restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible.
