Earthquake in Campi Flegrei: Train service from Naples returns to normal.

Naples – Train traffic in the Naples hub returned to normal overnight, following the disruptions and delays caused by the earthquake in the Campi Flegrei area. Trenitalia announced this in an update published on its official website.

According to the railway company, regular service was restored around 1:30 this morning, Saturday, August 1st. However, in the hours leading up to this, rail traffic was severely impacted: high-speed, intercity, and regional trains experienced significant delays, with travel times increasing by up to 380 minutes.

To ensure safety, some trains have been diverted to alternative routes, while high-speed and regional trains have been restricted. Regional trains, in particular, have also been subject to some cancellations.

The precautionary measures were adopted following the earthquake that struck the Phlegraean Fields area in the early hours of the day, triggering protocols to verify the integrity of the railway infrastructure.
