Naples, shock on Via Foria: elderly woman hit by scooter on pedestrian crossing

A new and very serious traffic accident has once again bloodied the arteries of central Naples, bringing the spotlight back to a now daily emergency: pedestrian safety. The events were fully documented by video surveillance cameras in the area, which captured the sequence of a brutal collision along Via Foria.

The video clearly shows the victim trying to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing. Within moments, a scooter approaches at high speed: the driver fails to slow down and hits the woman head-on. Due to the force of the collision, both the pedestrian and the man driving the two-wheeler were thrown violently onto the road.

The woman was promptly rescued and rushed to hospital due to the serious injuries she sustained.
