In the photo, a detail of the story.
A nasty ordeal for Igli Tare, former AC Milan and Lazio manager, who was robbed while returning to Rome by train after attending Franco Baresi's funeral, held yesterday in Milan. The theft, however, was short-lived: the bag was recovered thanks to the swift intervention of the State Police.
According to what the police themselves announced on their social media channels, Tare had placed the bag in the overhead locker of the train. Upon arriving at Rome Termini station, he noticed the theft and immediately contacted the Lazio Railway Police officers.
The intervention was launched without delay. Thanks to the analysis of images from the station's video surveillance system, the police were able to quickly reconstruct what had happened and identify the alleged perpetrator of the theft within minutes.
The officers' timely action allowed them to recover the bag stolen from the former sports director, preventing the robbery from being carried out. This incident confirms the importance of immediate reporting and the use of video surveillance systems in combating crime at major train stations.
