Mystery in Torre del Greco: Man found wounded and dying on the street

A body on the ground, a pool of blood, and the eerie silence of an ordinary morning, broken only by the wailing of sirens. The tragedy unfolded at dawn on Via Prota, on the outskirts of Torre del Greco, near number 42.

A passerby noticed the man lying unconscious on the asphalt and immediately raised the alarm by calling 112. The patrol cars of the local Carabinieri Radiomobile Section rushed to the scene within minutes.

Race against time at the Ospedale del Mare

The officers encountered a critical scene: a man in his 50s, completely unconscious, with a severe head wound. The Carabinieri immediately administered first aid while awaiting the arrival of an ambulance.

Given the severity of the injury, the injured man was rushed to the emergency room of the Ospedale del Mare hospital, in critical condition. Doctors diagnosed him with a severe head injury. He is currently awaiting critical surgery and is in life-threatening condition. The prognosis, as is standard practice, remains strictly confidential.

The identity puzzle and the investigations

Adding to the anguish and mystery of the story is a significant detail: the man has not yet been identified. He had no documents, and given his unconscious state, it was impossible to gather any information about his identity.

For investigators, this is a puzzle that needs to be solved quickly, not only to notify any family members, but also to give the investigation a clear direction.

The work of the policeThe investigation, coordinated by the judiciary, is proceeding with no holds barred. At this time, the exact nature and circumstances of the incident remain a complete mystery. No avenue has been ruled out, ranging from a tragic illness that may have caused a fatal fall, to the more disturbing possibility of an assault or a hit-and-run driver who failed to stop to provide assistance.

Scientific surveys of the area where the body was found and analysis of video surveillance cameras on Via Prota will be crucial to reconstructing the final moments before the tragedy and shedding full light on a case that has shaken the Vesuvian community.
