The best pizzeria in the world according to 50 Top Pizza is Michele Pascarella's "Napoli on the Road" in London. The award-winning pizza chef from Maddaloni in the province of Caserta climbs the world rankings in the industry guide curated by Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro, and Albert Sapere. The winners were announced at the Teatro Mercadante in Naples, during an awards ceremony hosted by Verónica Zumalacárregui, a Spanish journalist and influencer.
In second place was “Una Pizza Napoletana” in New York, by Anthony Mangieri, third place went to “Confine” by Francesco Capece and Mario Ventura, in Milan and in fourth place, ex aequo, were “I Masanielli” by Francesco Martucci, in Caserta, and Seu Pizza Illuminati by Pier Daniele Seu and Valeria Zuppardo, in Rome.
Another tie for fifth place is between William Joo's "Pizzeria Sei" in Los Angeles and Tony Gemignani's "Tony's Pizza Napoletana" in San Francisco. André Guidon's "Leggera Pizza Napoletana" in São Paulo, Brazil, is sixth. Giuseppe Errichiello's "RistoPizza by Napoli sta ca" in Tokyo is seventh. Ciro Cristiano's "Baldoria" in Madrid is eighth. In ninth place is "The Pizza Bar on 38th," led by Daniele Cason, in Tokyo. Rounding out the top ten is Dan Richer's "Razza" in Jersey City.
During the evening, in addition to special awards, certificates and recognitions were presented for their commitment to promoting Neapolitan pizza: to the Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani for the promotion of Neapolitan pizza in Italy and around the world; to Pasquale Telese and Francesco Conato, president and vice president, respectively, of the La Piccola Napoli Group, who received the Guinness World Records certificate for producing and distributing 12 pizzas for charity; and to Raffaele Biglietto, director of TuttoPizza, for promoting pizza culture through TuttoPizza.
There are 36 countries present in the world ranking: Italy leads with 31 venues, followed by the United States of America with 22 and Brazil with 6. The most represented cities are New York with 7 venues, followed by Naples with 6 and São Paulo with 5.
"2026 was a particularly significant year for 50 Top Pizza," said the three curators Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro, and Albert Sapere, "in which we not only saw the growth in the number of pizzerias and professionals involved, but also the consolidation of an international community increasingly aware of the value of quality. We are proud of the journey we have undertaken and, once again, of the stories we have had the privilege of meeting and telling." The guests then attended the closing party at Palazzo Caracciolo. The next 50 Top Pizza event will be held on November 25th in Milan, with the presentation of the 50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains 2026 guide.
