A fire near Vanvitelli University in Caserta: one man rescued.

A fire on Viale Ellittico, near the Luigi Vanvitelli University of Campania, required the intervention of the police and firefighters: one man was rescued, two officers injured, and a 54-year-old non-EU citizen was expelled for illegal presence in the area.

Last night in Caserta, a fire broke out on Viale Ellittico, in an area adjacent to the Luigi Vanvitelli University of Campania. The flames engulfed a makeshift structure, hampering rescue operations. Law enforcement and firefighters worked to rescue a person trapped inside the precarious building, successfully extracting him from the flames and placing him in the care of emergency medical personnel.

According to the statement, the rescued man was taken to the hospital and his condition revealed no injuries related to the fire. During the intervention, two officers suffered abrasions and smoke inhalation symptoms, which resulted in subsequent medical treatment.

The rescued man was identified as a 54-year-old non-EU citizen. He reported seeing the arsonist, providing a description and contact information. Investigations also revealed his illegal presence in Italy.

After completing the required formalities and receiving judicial approval, an expulsion order was issued against the 54-year-old non-EU citizen. The investigation aims to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the incident.
