Arzano, drug traffickers crackdown: 3 kilograms of cocaine seized

Arzano – Yesterday evening, the State Police arrested a 45-year-old man, already known to law enforcement for specific crimes, on charges of illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.

The operation was conducted by the Falcons of the Flying Squad in the heart of Arzano, in the northern hinterland of Naples.

Officers, engaged in a drug bust, stopped the man as he was walking along Corso Salvatore D'Amato. He was carrying a duffel bag. Inside, three blocks of cocaine weighing more than three kilograms. The quantity and method of transportation convinced investigators to immediately extend the search.

The house search

The officers then went to a residence occupied by the 45-year-old. With the assistance of a Guardia di Finanza canine unit, they found two narcotic-laced kitchen knives, a precision scale, various drug packaging materials, and €67.000 in cash.

The picture that emerged—drugs still to be measured, street laboratory equipment, and a substantial cash register—strengthened the hypothesis of a structured, rather than occasional, drug dealing activity.

The investigations do not stop

The man was arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. Investigators believe the seizure represents a blow to the local drug trade and, potentially, the networks that supply it. The police investigation is now focusing on three main lines: identifying the suppliers, reconstructing the clientele, and the 45-year-old's role within the organization, particularly on whose behalf he operated.
