Caivano: Carabinieri find over 5 kilos of heroin after suitcase opened on bus

A piece of luggage left open and unattended prompted the intervention of the Carabinieri of the Caivano Company yesterday afternoon. The discovery was made inside a bus in a transport company warehouse in the Cinquevie area.

In the suitcase, the officers found 469 heroin pellets, weighing a total of 5.293 kilograms. The substance was hidden among some women's clothing.

The investigation is currently being handled by the Carabinieri, who are trying to determine who the baggage belonged to and what its destination was. Footage from surveillance cameras in the area will be crucial.

The seizure, given the quantity and the manner of the stash, indicates a transport of pre-portioned drugs, not a small personal possession. Caivano, under close scrutiny by law enforcement for months due to drug dealing and investigations into the local Camorra, is once again at the center of the anti-drug news, this time far from the most well-known locations and in a seemingly ordinary setting: a warehouse, a bus, an unattended suitcase.

The fact that the heroin packets were contained in a suitcase containing women's clothing suggests that the shipment was carried out by a foreign national. This is a significant shipment.

It is conceivable that whoever transported the drugs was forced, due to some unexpected event, to hastily leave the place.
