In Campania, the work stoppage during the riskiest hours has been extended until September 15 due to the heat.

The heat continues, and in Campania, measures to protect workers most exposed to high temperatures are being extended. Regional President Roberto Fico signed Ordinance No. 2 of September 1, 2026, extending the provisions introduced on June 17 until September 15.

The measure applies to the entire region and confirms the ban on work in the agricultural, construction, and related sectors involving prolonged exposure to the sun, between 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM. The suspension will be implemented on days when the INAIL Worklimate risk prediction maps, consulted at 12:00 PM, indicate a "High" level for workers engaged in intense physical activity in the sun.

The extension is motivated by the continuing high temperatures. Heat, humidity, and prolonged exposure to solar radiation can increase heat stress and pose serious health risks to those working outdoors.

Essential and urgent operations required to restore essential services after unforeseeable events remain exempt from the ban. Even in these cases, all obligations under workplace health and safety regulations must be complied with.

"We are confirming a necessary preventive measure because high temperatures continue to pose a real risk to those performing particularly demanding outdoor activities. Protecting health and safety in the workplace must remain a public priority, especially in sectors most exposed to the effects of heat," Fico stated.

The measure will remain in effect until September 15th, with the aim of reducing exposure during the most critical hours and preventing the consequences of intense heat on workers in the most exposed sectors.
