Naples: An illegal parking attendant was arrested for attempted extortion and found in possession of scissors.

Yesterday afternoon, the State Police arrested a 27-year-old man, already known to law enforcement, for attempted extortion against motorists in the historic center of Naples. The operation was triggered by a report to the Operations Room regarding an abusive parking attendant on Via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli.

According to the victim's description, after leaving the car, the man approached her and demanded money for parking. When she refused, the man allegedly began cursing and struck the car with kicks and a metal object.

Thanks to the information provided by the tip, officers from the Decumani Police Station located and arrested the suspect in Vico Sant'Aniello in Caponapoli. During a search, he was found in possession of a pair of scissors.

The suspect was arrested for attempted extortion and charged with possession of offensive objects. The operation is part of territorial control efforts aimed at combating illegal construction and threatening behavior in Naples' historic center.
