Naples, Fico: "Waterfront platforms should be open all summer with access to the sea."

Naples is preparing to experience next summer as an integral part of its urban landscape, with a project of platforms along the seafront that aims to bring residents closer to the sea.

According to the President of the Campania Region, the platforms will be positioned along the stretch from Rotonda Diaz to Castel dell'Ovo, operational from April to October, and equipped with ladders for safe access to the sea. The platforms will be assembled and dismantled periodically to rebuild a direct connection between the city's residents and the sea.

During the second day of the America's Cup preliminary regatta, the governor spoke to journalists from the Race Village on Lungomare Caracciolo, emphasizing the need to offer a beach experience accessible to all. The initiative is part of a broader program to free up and enhance Naples' coastal areas, with a particular focus on the public beaches currently being built in Bagnoli.

At the same time, the administration has announced the goal of completing the reclamation of San Giovanni a Teduccio, coupled with a strong focus on seawater quality. According to ARPAC assessments, water analysis in the coastal area is excellent for its category, a useful confirmation to support public use of the coastline and promote Naples as a safe, livable, and democratic city.

The program, highlighted in an international sporting context, aims to transform the Lungomare into a temporary yet structural space for connecting residents, tourists, and the sea, with a particular focus on safety and accessibility. The governing team appears determined to ensure this summer season becomes a model for urban coastal enjoyment, while maintaining rigorous monitoring of environmental quality and beach infrastructure.
