The Province of Caserta is accelerating maintenance of the provincial road network: 23 contracts for extraordinary maintenance projects, funded with €13,5 million, have been signed ahead of the deadline set by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility (MIT). This achievement, the agency emphasizes, is significant, made possible thanks to the collaborative efforts of its offices, particularly the General Secretariat headed by Elena Inserra.
The provincial offices completed the entire administrative and technical process: from designing the projects to preparing the tenders, awarding contracts, and signing them with the winning companies. The process was completed before September 15th, the deadline set by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport for the use of resources earmarked for the 2025-2029 program.
The works, coordinated by the Roads Department (led by Gerardo Palmieri), will cover the entire province, with particular attention to sections that have not been renovated for years. The works will primarily concern:
the resurfacing of road surfaces;
the construction or replacement of safety barriers and guard rails.
The construction sites are scheduled to begin in October, while for 2025 the works – already underway – must be completed by December 31st.
For the first year of funding, active construction sites involve numerous provincial roads in various areas:
Upper Caserta: Alife, Alvignano, Caiazzo, Castel Campagnano, Castel di Sasso, Dragoni, Formicola, Piana di Monte Verna;
Bellona and Marcianise area;
Domitian coast: stretch between Mondragone, Falciano del Massico and Cellole.
"Completing the procedures before the deadline set by the Ministry is a significant achievement, the fruit of the collaborative efforts of the Ministry's offices," stated Provincial President Anacleto Colombiano. "We have transformed the available resources into a concrete program of interventions that will cover the entire province, with particular attention to the roads that have been in need of maintenance and safety improvements for the longest time. The operational phase will begin in October with the delivery of the works, while the 2025 construction sites are already underway and will all be completed by December 31st."
