Fire in the Vesuvius National Park: Torre del Greco working to contain the emergency

A forest fire broke out on Via Antica Trecase, in the upper part of Torre del Greco, near the protected areas of the Vesuvius National Park. According to residents, around 13:00 PM, heavy smoke, visible from a distance, billowed from the wind and directed toward residential areas, caused concern among residents.

The emergency was managed under a coordinated framework by the Civil Protection Department: a helicopter was also deployed to support operations. Alongside the ground firefighters, the SMA Campania and volunteers worked to contain the flames.

At this time, the fire is contained, and cleanup efforts are still underway in the affected areas. The incident occurred near the Vesuvius National Park, drawing attention to the emergency situation in the Vesuvius area.
