Last January, the 29-year-old narrowly escaped an ambush with nearly identical circumstances along Via Amerigo Vespucci, near the intersection with Via Marina. He was traveling in a car with an acquaintance when a speeding scooter approached him. Two shots were fired, one of which grazed him in the head, causing only a grazing wound.

At the time, investigators blamed the incident on friction within local petty crime or personal disagreements that escalated into armed retaliation, ruling out any direct links to structured organized crime.
