Pagani – Patients forced to arrive at the hospital in the early hours of the morning, long waits, and difficulty following the order of arrival. This is the situation reported at the Tortora Hospital in Pagani, particularly among patients undergoing oncology visits and treatments.

According to a citizen's report to Green-Left MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, several patients arrive at the facility as early as 7:00 a.m., despite the fact that the office opens at 8:30 a.m. The problem, according to the report, is primarily related to the lack of a numbering system or a clearly defined procedure for determining the order of admission.

This situation, according to the complaint, would ultimately fuel crowding, misunderstandings, and arguments among those waiting. This is particularly difficult for those forced to visit the facility daily for treatment.

Reporting to management

The citizen who raised the case also claims to have already sent a certified email to the hospital management, but has received no response. She also attempted to contact the facility's director personally, but was unsuccessful.

Hence the request to verify what is happening and to find an organizational solution that can avoid tense situations at the entrances to the clinics.

"This is a situation that needs to be addressed immediately," said Francesco Emilio Borrelli and Carlo Ceparano, regional councilor for AVS and member of the Health Commission. "We understand the stress and the enormous workload medical staff are under, and we always express our deepest sympathy to them. But we're talking about people who are undergoing cancer treatment and who often arrive at the hospital already physically and psychologically exhausted."

For the two Avs representatives, therefore, "it is unacceptable that they have to face chaos simply to be received."

The request to the ASL and management

Borrelli and Ceparano therefore ask the facility's management and the local health authority to verify the report and, if the critical issues are confirmed, to intervene to ensure an orderly, transparent, and easily understandable access system.

«A clear management of the order of arrival would be enough to avoid tensions and, above all, to restore dignity to patients who are experiencing an extremely delicate moment», conclude the two Avs representatives, announcing that they will continue to monitor the situation and ask for concrete responses.
