Pitbull carcass abandoned in Aversa: cremation business owner reported

The Carabinieri Forestry Unit of Marcianise (CE) have arrested the legal representative of a company operating in the Aversa area, specializing in the cremation and disposal of domestic animal carcasses.

The man is accused of illegal management and disposal of special waste.

The investigation began after local health authority veterinarians discovered the carcass of a pitbull dog abandoned on the ground. The discovery followed a complaint filed by the animal's owner with the Marcianise Forestry Department.

According to the reconstruction, the woman had delivered her dog's remains to the company for proper disposal. However, investigations indicated that this procedure was not followed: the carcass was found a short distance from the owner's home.

Following the investigation, the company owner was also given the additional sanction of license suspension, as the crime was allegedly committed using a company truck. The carcass was seized by the Marcianise Veterinary Health Authority.

The animal's remains will now undergo an autopsy at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale in Portici. The analyses should provide further information to clarify the circumstances of its death and abandonment.
