America's Cup inspection raid at the Bagnoli shipyard: findings for four companies

Naples – Extensive checks have been conducted at the Bagnoli shipyard, where onshore work is underway for the 38th America's Cup. An inspection conducted by a joint task force has resulted in the issuing of findings and orders against four companies involved in the work.

The inspection involved units from the State Police, the Carabinieri, and the Guardia di Finanza, along with personnel from the DIA Operations Center in Naples. The inspection is part of the checks required by the legality protocol signed on March 24.

Legality and safety checks

The protocol involves the Prefecture of Naples, the Extraordinary Commissioner for Bagnoli-Coroglio, Invitalia, the Inspectorate of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Naples, INPS, INAIL, ASL Napoli 1 Centro, ACEN, and trade unions.

The goal is to strengthen controls along the procurement chain and ensure compliance on construction sites, with particular attention to worker safety and the prevention of criminal infiltration.

The surveillance effort therefore accompanies the major transformation underway in the western part of the city, where environmental remediation and urban regeneration projects are intertwined with the infrastructure works required for the international sailing competition.

The outcome communicated to the Venue Board

The outcome of the inspection was communicated by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, during the America's Cup Venue Board meeting, convened yesterday at the Prefecture to review the organization of the event.

During the meeting, the various ongoing interventions were reviewed, with the aim of coordinating the activities of the various bodies involved and ensuring compliance with the required timelines and standards.
