Giugliano, €80 heist in Lago Patria: 'Stone Gioielli' shop robbed

Giugliano – The raid took place in the dead of night, with ruthless precision and a brazenness that left the area's residents uninhibited. Shortly before 2:00 a.m., the silence of number 37 Via Lago Patria was shattered by the shrill, dull sound of a flex.

A gang of at least five criminals stormed the “Stone Gioielli” jewellery shop, managing to elude the rapid intervention of the police and escape with an estimated loot of around 80 thousand euros.

The assault with the flex and the escape

A swift and violent attack. The criminals used an angle grinder to cut the shutter and pried off the front door, managing to enter the premises before anyone could stop them. Inside the shop, the gang emptied the windows, stealing tens of thousands of euros' worth of valuables and jewelry. Local residents were startled awake by the noise and raised the alarm.

The Carabinieri 's mobile radio unit rushed to the scene and immediately launched a manhunt in the surrounding area to intercept the getaway car, which however managed to disappear without a trace.

Anger and outburst on social media

The investigation is now being carried out by the military personnel of the Varcaturo Station, led by Lieutenant Procolo Petrungaro, who are carrying out technical surveys and acquiring footage from public and private video surveillance cameras in the area.

A devastating blow for the two young entrepreneurs from Castel Volturno who own the business, who took to social media to express their despair by posting images of the devastated premises: "This is what remains of our sacrifices," reads the caption accompanying the video showing the damage and the stolen goods.

An emergency without end

The incident reignites security concerns in the Giugliano area, a region gripped by a predatory criminal escalation that has affected every business. Just hours earlier, also in Lago Patria, petty criminals had targeted a local farm: a nighttime raid culminated in the cutting of the electrical cables of an irrigation well and the theft of machinery and agricultural materials. A series of attacks that signals a genuine emergency on the coast.
