The seized gun
Naples – The Naples Surveillance Court has ordered the detention of a 33-year-old man from Roccarainola, previously under house arrest. According to the judges, the house arrest was deemed inadequate following violations discovered by the Carabinieri of the local station during periodic checks at the inmate's home.
The notification of the order prompted a house search by the police, assisted by two canine units from the Sarno Carabinieri Canine Unit. The dogs were used to search the property for any hidden illegal substances.
During the inspection, the following were found and seized inside the house:
130 grams of hashish;
a Mauser model 712 pistol, 7,63 caliber, capable of burst fire and classified as a war weapon;
22 rounds of 7,65 caliber ammunition;
material for packaging doses.
The 33-year-old, already booked into Secondigliano prison, will now also have to answer for illegal possession of weapons and drugs for the purpose of dealing, in addition to the charges already pending that led to the revocation of his house arrest.
