Another blaze erupts at the former "Bar Vittoria Black & White" on Via delle Repubbliche Marinare in Naples. Just weeks after the September 17th blaze, a new fire engulfed what remains of the historic venue, closed for years due to structural violations.
According to initial reports, the fire started on the roof of the building. Arson, as had been suspected for the previous fire, has not been ruled out.
The firefighters' intervention was particularly delicate when two LPG cylinders were found open on the building's terrace. If not identified and secured in time, this situation could have caused an explosion and much more serious consequences.
The flames also reached an adjacent warehouse used for storing coffins. Firefighters worked to contain the blaze and secure the area, preventing further damage.
At the end of the operations, both the gas cylinders and the premises were seized. The investigation will now clarify the circumstances of the fire and, above all, establish whether the latest incident was caused by malicious intent.
The previous fire, which occurred on September 17th, had already affected the building, which had been unused for years. This latest incident has refocused attention on the former Bar Vittoria and the safety conditions in the area.
