The seized gun
The Naples Police Headquarters' extraordinary territorial patrol operations continue to combat illegal possession of weapons and drug trafficking in the northern hinterland. On the afternoon of Sunday, September 27, officers from the Frattamaggiore Police Station arrested a 53-year-old man with a criminal record and reported a minor, caught with an illegal weapon and with narcotics, respectively.
The investigation began in Piazza della Repubblica, in Sant'Antimo, where a patrol car from the Frattamaggiore Police Station stopped a young man riding a motorcycle for a check. The officers found a package of cocaine on the boy; in the glove compartment of the scooter, they discovered nine packages of hashish, weighing a total of approximately 14 grams.
Based on the evidence gathered, the officers decided to investigate further and went to the minor's home. There, inside the apartment, they discovered the father, a 53-year-old from Casoria and already known to law enforcement. During a personal search, the man was found in possession of a 7,65 caliber pistol with the serial number removed, complete with an inserted magazine and seven rounds of ammunition. A further 43 rounds of ammunition of the same caliber were then found in a pouch.
