September at the Borgo kicks off in Caserta: Giovanni Esposito's Nero opens the evening.

After being postponed due to windy conditions, the 54th edition of the Settembre al Borgo festival returns to delight Caserta audiences. This evening, the Teatro al Borgo, located at the foot of Casertavecchia across from the Chapel of San Rocco, hosts a screening of Giovanni Esposito's film Nero, followed by a discussion with the Neapolitan actor-director. The event, directed by Massimiliano Gallo, continues with an exhibition and other related events.

The village's restart: The Seven Sisters and the first appointments

During the day, the exhibition "The Seven Sisters. The Campana Madonnas between Tradition and Legend," by Marialaura Balestra, opens in the Church of the Annunziata. The exhibition interacts with one of the village's historic sites and will remain open until Sunday, September 27th.

Backstage secrets at 19:30 pm

At 19:30 pm, "Backstage Secrets" will be held , a talk dedicated to stage photography and curiosities from the set. Anna Camerlingo and Maria Bolignano will guide the audience through the professions, skills, and creative choices that contribute to the construction of images and scenes.

Black with Giovanni Esposito

At 20:30 pm, there will be a screening of Nero , directed by Giovanni Esposito. The director and actor will be present at the Teatro al Borgo, offering viewers the opportunity to hear his own take on the film's journey. This is the first of three screenings in the Fabulae series.

Tomorrow Marco Travaglio with Cornuti e Contenti

The program continues on Thursday, September 24th at 20:30 PM, again at the Teatro al Borgo, with "Cornuti e Contenti ," a show by and starring Marco Travaglio. The performance blends theater, satire, and civic analysis to tell the story of contemporary Italy through the journalist's voice.

A family-friendly festival

During the evenings at the Teatro al Borgo, free childcare is available from 19:00 PM until the end of the events at the Chalet Petit Fleur, behind the theater. This service allows parents to attend their appointments while their children are cared for in a safe space.
