Simeone proposes the Campania electoral law as a national model to ensure stability and democratic choice

Fico Presidente's group leader, Nino Simeone, maintains that the electoral law currently in force in Campania represents an effective model to be adopted nationwide to ensure governability and citizens' right to choose.

Nino Simeone, regional councilor and leader of the Fico Presidente group, expressed his position on the need for a new national electoral law, suggesting using the system currently applied in Campania as a reference. According to Simeone, it is not necessary to devise new formulas or accommodate momentary political expediency, but rather to leverage an already functioning experience that ensures stability and the ability for those who gain consensus to govern with a clear majority for the duration of their mandate.

The Campania model, according to the councilor, also guarantees citizens the right to choose their representatives through free preferences, without top-down nomination mechanisms or special protections for candidates. Simeone emphasizes that an electoral law must be designed not for contingent majorities, but with a long-term perspective, capable of working for all future political majorities.

In conclusion, Simeone calls for transforming the Campania experience into a national model, where the winner has the power to govern and the loser exercises the opposition, with the final decision left to the voters. This proposal fits into the broader debate on Italian electoral reform, focusing on a system that combines effective governance and respect for the popular will.
