Casoria, local police crackdown on waste dumping: increased checks, even in the evenings and at night.

Casoria – Tighter controls against indiscriminate littering and the irregular disposal of municipal solid waste. In Casoria, the municipal administration and the Local Police Command have launched a series of measures to strengthen the prevention and fight against illegal practices that compromise urban decorum and the environmental quality of the area.

As part of the new operational plan, a specialized unit of the Local Police has been established, specifically dedicated to environmental controls, combating waste abandonment, and monitoring situations of degradation.

Initial efforts have already yielded tangible results. Officers have carried out several seizures and issued numerous charges against those responsible for the identified irregularities. Surveillance will continue in the areas most affected by the phenomenon, with particular attention to waste disposal methods that do not comply with current regulations.

Enhanced controls with “Land of Fires 2026”

The "Terra dei Fuochi – 2026" project, approved and funded by the Ministry of the Interior, will further strengthen the system. As part of the initiative, several Local Police patrols will also be deployed during the evening and nighttime hours, when illegal behavior is most common.

The services will be carried out in collaboration with the Italian Army. This synergy will allow for an increased presence of forces engaged in territorial control and intensified surveillance and prevention activities.
According to the Command, the upgrade will not entail additional costs for the municipal coffers, thanks to the resources allocated through the ministerial project.

“Increasingly stringent controls”

"Combating waste abandonment and degradation is one of our priorities in the area," emphasizes the commander of the Casoria Local Police. "We have chosen to intervene with a specialized organization and targeted checks, rather than limiting ourselves to simply issuing fines."

"The seizures and fines already issued demonstrate that the controls are producing concrete results," the commander continues. "With the 'Land of Fires' project, we will be able to further strengthen our presence, especially during the evening and nighttime hours, when certain illegal activities are more frequent."

The message to citizens is clear: the environment must be respected. Those who abandon waste or fail to comply with the rules for proper disposal will be subjected to increasingly stringent checks. At the same time, the Local Police intend to recognize the behavior of citizens who contribute daily, through compliance with the rules, to protecting the environment and urban decorum.

The goal is to build a more effective control system, based on a combination of prevention, local presence, and enforcement of violations. Environmental protection and the fight against degradation remain among the daily duties of the Casoria Local Police.
