Sapri – A man of Maghreb origin was stopped and reported by the Railway Police after being caught inside the Sapri station, where he allegedly attempted to break into an office to commit a theft.
According to the officers' reconstruction, the man first damaged the door to an office at the airport, then attempted to force his way in. Upon seeing the railway police patrol, he attempted to flee on foot, but was caught and arrested shortly thereafter.
After being identified and subjected to the usual checks, the foreign national was reported at large to the judicial authorities. The checks revealed his irregular status in Italy, and the required expulsion procedures were therefore initiated.
The intervention was coordinated by Sapri Railway Police officers, led by Inspector Nicola Messuti. The incident occurred as the luxury tourist train "La Dolce Vita Orient Express" was entering the station, under the eyes of numerous passengers waiting on the platforms.
