Capodichino Airport: 41-year-old arrested for resisting a public official at check-in
Yesterday afternoon, at Capodichino Airport, a 41-year-old man was arrested by the State Police for resisting a public officer. According to an airport manager present at the time, the man could not have been allowed to board because he had harassed passengers waiting for check-in and appeared to be clearly mentally and physically impaired.
The situation quickly escalated, with the man allegedly becoming violent and threatening both the staff on duty and the police officers present. The officers attempted to calm him down; subsequently, the individual approached another check-in counter and reportedly attacked a plexiglass partition, before attempting to assault another airport worker.
The officers' intervention allowed him to be stopped and arrested, but the outcome was followed by some difficulty in restoring calm. Fortunately, there were no further consequences for the staff or passengers present.
